Your Accommodation

Your holiday accommodation comprises of a large lounge/kitchen area and large bedroom with ensuite toilet/shower/wet room. The lounge is furnished with a large double sofa bed (which comfortably sits 4), satellite TV, and an entertainment unit equipped with music, DVDs, videos, books and games, for both children and adults.
The property is accessed via a ramp onto a level terrace, and the apartment is all on one level with no raised door frames.
The doors are all widened to 94cm.

The bedroom is furnished with a fully hydraulic, height-adjustable single size bed with a weight limit of 150kg, with hand controls and independently adjustable head and foot rests.
The bed is also fitted with safety rails on both sides and a tempura pressure relieving mattress. The bed can be positioned for left or right handed access. The wardrobe is fitted with an adjustable rail and low level drawers.
It is fully air conditioned and can be furnished as required by guests, with either single beds (one with a hydraulic lift), double bed, bunk beds or any combination required.
Travel cot and baby bouncer seat are also available.
The en-suite shower room has level access throughout, and ample storage space. There is a removable height adjustable shower seat with removable arm rests. There is a fixed hand rail on the right and a fold away height adjustable one on the left, which is also used for support on the right side of the basin. The toilet has a foldaway height adjustable handrail on the left and a fixed wall mounted one on the right. The toilet is accessible from the right and front only. A raised toilet seat can be provided.
Please note that all these access views are given as viewed from facing the equipment.

The kitchen area is adapted for wheelchair users. It is equipped with full size oven, hob, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and blender, and is fitted with ample base unit storage space, and a low level oven and touch operated electric hob. There is a lowered work surface at 79cm high.
Guests can also make use of a separate freezer.
All sockets and light switches are at wheelchair height.
The apartment is also furnished with a manual hoist with a lifting capacity of 175kg. The hoist is not supplied with slings and guests will need to supply their own.
The hoist is suitable to be used in the shower.
The pool is only available in season and can be access from the terrace via a pool hoist, or steps and ladder. Please note that guests who need them will need to supply their own floatation aids.
There is ample sunbathing space either on the terrace or at the pool side which is accessed via a ramp. If you prefer the shade our garden is shaded with orange and lemon trees and has level access from the pool side area.

Facilities and Services

The apartment is equipped with the following equipment for use as required:

The accommodation is available for self catering, bed and breakfast and half or full board. Full or supplementary care packages are also available, and any combination of these can be arranged.
Airport transfers in a fully wheelchair accessible right hand drive minibus is included in the price. The minibus, which is fitted with a ramp and electric winch and can seat up to 6 plus a wheelchair, is available for hire with or without a driver.
Child booster seats are available free of charge and we can arrange rental of child car seats if required. We can also arrange local hire of motorised scooters for the disabled.
We can arrange supplies of incontinence aides locally in order to avoid excess baggage charges, and can pre-purchase your groceries including diabetic and gluten free products and baby food (for a minimal charge).
The apartment is serviced 5 times a week and bedding changed twice weekly (unless required more often). All towels and a limited supply of beach towels are provided, as is waterproof bedding if required.
Sharps and clinical waste disposal can be arranged.
Our guests have use of the laundry room including tumble drier and iron. Baby sitting and adult accompanying services are available.

The Area

This accommodation provides the best of all worlds :-
Only 1 hour from Malaga airport we are situated in the heart of Andalucia in the beautiful Natural Park of El Chorro. The village has three small shops all within a 3 minute walk, a number of bars and a hotel with a wheelchair accessible restaurant. The railway line from the village runs to Malaga several times each day.
We are just ten minutes drive from the beautiful Ardales lakes where guests can enjoy fishing, boating, swimming or simply relaxing and enjoying the breathtaking views.
Relax in the tranquil garden amongst orange and lemon trees, or on the vine-covered terrace of this peaceful lakeside village house. Sunbathe by the pool or enjoy delicious meals in one of the many local restaurants overlooking the Ardales lakes.
Soak up Andalucian history with a visit to nearby Ronda, go shopping in nearby Campillos or immerse yourself in local culture with a visit to the Picasso Museum in Malaga.
The Costa Del Sol is just one hour’s drive away with its many beaches and restaurants, and a multitude of theme parks, water parks, animal parks, and shopping malls.

Activities

We understand how stressful trying to find things to do on holiday can be. So why not take advantage of our extensive list of accessible activities which can be pre-booked (advisable to avoid disappointment) or arranged when you arrive?
These include horse-riding, quad-biking, 4x4 off-roading, donkey-riding (children only), archery, and possibly abseiling, (depending on local conditions). These activities are all provided by specialist organisations and more details can be found on their websites.
A wide range of in-house massage therapies can be arranged, including massage, reiki, reflexology etc. Painting classes with a local artist are also on offer.
Any or all of these activities can be arranged in a full package alongside sight seeing or shopping trips or with days in-between to relax by the pool.
Only 10 minutes drive away are the beautiful Ardarles lakes with fishing and boating (for those able to access the boats) and bird watching - there are a number of restaurants along the route between the lakes which is an enjoyable drive with breathtaking views.
The Costa Del Sol is only an hour away with all it has to offer: theme parks, water parks, zoo, safari park, crocodile park, wolf park, and a dolphin park where you can have your photograph taken with a dolphin or swim with a seal.
Wheelchair accessible boat trips from Fuengirola to view dolphins can also be arranged. There are a number of fully wheelchair accessible shopping malls along the coast, and Plaza Mayor with its wealth of restaurants, shops, cinema showing both English and Spanish films, bowling and amusement arcade, all wheelchair accessible is less than an hour away.
If you prefer sightseeing trips to any of the nearby towns, some that are on offer include Malaga, with its Old Town and Picasso Museum, Ronda with its beautiful architecture, Mijas with its donkey and cart rides, or anywhere else you may have in mind.

We know how important it is for those who wish to travel independently or with friends to have the support they need to enable this, and for families to all have the opportunity to relax and have a break. We are therefore happy to offer full or supplementary care packages individually planned to suit our guests specific needs. Provided by fully qualified English speaking staff, we will also do our best to ensure same gender support.

Support can be arranged on an hourly basis or with a full package. We can also arrange for full or part catering.
We want to ensure that all our guests leave feeling like they have had a wonderful holiday, so whatever it is that you need let us know and we will do our best to arrange it.
Please note that if you choose not to prearrange any of our packages, and you change your mind during your holiday, we can always make any changes you need, subject to availability.
