THE LOUNGE/KITCHEN AREA

The lounge/kitchen area is furnished with a double sofa bed, tv with free view channels, dvd and cd players with a selection of dvds and cds for all ages and tastes. There is also an entertainment cupboard stocked with a variety of games and books to suit all.

A foldaway dining table and chairs are also provided for indoor dining.

The kitchen is fully fitted with, full oven and hob, fridge, kettle, toaster, blender and microwave.

Free wi-fi internet connection is available throughout the apartment.

Guests also have free use of laundry facilities and a freezer.

THE BEDROOM

The comfortable, spacious double/family room is furnished with both a double and single bed, so is ideal for families, couples or “sharing”. The bedroom is air-conditioned and has a large on-suite wet room.

All bedding and towels are supplied

THE GARDEN AND POOLSIDE AREAS

The apartment opens out onto a poolside terrace, furnished with table and chairs for outside dining, where you can relax on loungers in the dappled shade of the grape vines, or if you prefer on a hammock under the shade of a lemon tree.

Sun worshippers can enjoy almost all day sun on the lower pool side terrace.

ADDITONAL SERVICES

Catering is available at an additional cost, from bed and breakfast to full board. Packed lunches are also available.

Airport and train station pick-ups can be arranged.

Transport for grocery shopping etc can be arranged.

ACTIVITIES

The area really is a 'best of all worlds' location. Set in the heart of the Andalucian country side, but only an hour from Malaga and the Costa Del Sol with all that has to offer.

Rock climbing
El chorro is world famous for rock climbing, and of course The Camino del Rey. Most of the climbing areas are within a short walk of the apartment, including The Camino. We are able to arrange experienced climbing partners and instructors for our guests should they wish.

Water sports
The Ardarles Lakes are just a short drive away, with canoeing and kayaking (in season) and year round fishing available.

Walking
The apartment is on the GR7 route, and the National Park has plenty of routes to suit all abilities. We are just a short drive away from the renowned El Torcal.

For guests who prefer a more active holiday El Chorro also has facilities for parascending, mountain biking , quad biking, 4x4 off-roading and horse riding which are all available locally.

For those who prefer more sedate pastimes fishing in the Ardales Lakes, bird watching and painting classes with a local artist can be arranged.

For those guests who would like some pampering a full range of massages and beauty therapy treatments can be provided in the comfort of your apartment.

For families there are a number of visitor centres nearby, including Carting, The Donkey Sanctuary and Wolf Park to name just a few. Along the coast there are a multitude of family/ wheelchair friendly places to visit, including animal parks and zoo, theme parks, water parks, aquarium etc, and of course miles and miles of beaches.

For those who like to shop, there are a number of shopping malls along the coast, including Plaza Major with its huge choice of restaurants, shops, and entertainment arcades all of which are totally disabled accessible. There are also a number of cinemas showing films in English.

For guests who enjoy sightseeing, there are plenty of nearby towns and villages with plenty of Spanish culture to experience. Including Malaga with its Old Town and Picasso Museum, The traditional whitewashed town of Mijas with its bull ring and donkey carriage rides around the town, Ronda with its beautiful architecture and museums.

Why not take advantage of our minibus and driver for a day trip to Gibraltar? Enjoy tax free shopping, sightseeing or a trip up to the famous rock and its monkeys.

All of the above activities are available to be pre-booked or booked during your stay subject to availability.

Disabled information

The apartment is fully adapted and equipped to a very high standard to accommodate guests with disabilities. It is accessed from the lane via a ramp onto a level poolside terrace area, which leads directly into the apartment.

The whole area is on one level with no raised door frames and all doors widened to 94 cm.

All light switches and sockets are at wheelchair height.

THE LOUNGE / KITCHEN

The lounge has ample space for wheelchair users, and can be furnished with a high seated armchair if required.

The kitchen has a low level work top for wheelchair users.

THE BEDROOM

The bedroom is furnished with a double bed and a fully hydraulic, height-adjustable single size bed with a weight limit of 150kg, with hand controls and independently adjustable head and foot rests.

The bed is also fitted with safety rails on both sides (which can be fitted with cushioned protectors if required,) and a tempura pressure relieving mattress. The bed can be positioned for left or right handed access. The wardrobe is fitted with an adjustable rail and low level drawers.

It is fully air conditioned and can be furnished as required by guests, with either single beds (one with a hydraulic lift), double bed, or any combination required.

THE SHOWER ROOM

THE TERRACE, GARDEN AND POOL AREAS

There is a level poolside terrace outside the apartment furnished with a large patio table and chairs and barbeque. The pool can be accessed via an electric hoist from this terrace.

For guests who prefer the shade, the lower poolside terrace and peaceful garden, planted with a variety of citrus and fruit trees is accessed via a ramp from the terrace above.

Please note that guests who require them will need to provide their own flotation aids

EQUIPMENT

All the following equipment is available free of charge to our guests:

• Manual hoist with a load limit of 175kgs. Guests will need to provide their own slings
• Fully height adjustable standard shower seat with arms
• Sea horse shower / toilet chair
• Raised toilet seat
• Fully hydraulic height adjustable bed with tempura pressure relieving mattress and safety rails
• All the above equipment meets all UK health and safety regulations and is maintained to UK standards
• In addition, child booster car seats, travel cot and a baby bouncer seat are available free of charge
• Waterproof bedding is available on request
• A limited supply of beach towels are also available on request as are cool bags, thermos flasks etc.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES

• Our fully wheelchair adapted minibus is available for hire for self drive or with our driver. The minibus sits 5 plus driver and wheelchair (only available for disabled guests).
• We understand how stressful it can be for families who provide care and support, especially families that have young carers. We are happy to be able to provide care packages individually planned to meet the needs of our guests for full or supplementary care. Provided by UK qualified care and nursing staff. An ideal opportunity for parents who ' s children provide their care to enjoy a family holiday in the certain knowledge that they will be supported by highly experienced, professional, friendly staff, and that their carers can also have a well earned break.
• We know how important it is for those who wish to travel independently, or with friends to have the support they need to enable them to do this.
• We are happy to be able to provide a wide variety of catering packages, from B&B to full board, or any combination. We will do our best to accommodate any special dietary requirements.
• We can arrange supplies of incontinence aids locally in order to cut down on your luggage weight.
• Grocery shopping can be done for you to be here on your arrival, including diabetic and gluten free products.
